‘Edition 17’ of the Duchess Utsav was inaugurated 10 am, 17 September, at Savera Hotel by Suhasini Maniratnam and actor Ganesh Venkatraman.
The two-day event was run between 10 am and 8 pm and introduce a plethora of new designers from all over India showcasing their stylish contemporary ensembles in stunning Indian fabrics and blends. It is said to be a celebration of creativity, entrepreneurship, art and artisans.
Duchess Utsav 2018 was see participation of best designs and craftsmanship in fashion, home, food and lifestyle from across the country.
The edition was also see the participation of ‘Gent NXT Pavilion’ – by designers from NIFT.
Hotch Potch – a maiden venture, were showcase trendy and youthful collection of leather bags while other brands such as Guntha Sancha, Celia Palathinkal, Patterns had been showcasing their creativity on a different scale.
There are other firms putting up stalls – Anoma Enticing Embroidery that sells hand-embroidered, ready-to-wear outfits and A Tailor’s Tale that exhibited multi-designer ensembles in exclusive designs.
Designer Sharath Sundar were offering classic and contemporary linen collection for women. Aditi, from Samaraho Boutique of Kolkata, taking part in the Duchess Utsav for the fifth time, did bring festive collection in various hues with contemporary designs.
Food stalls had also be arranged during the events and new tastes had been introduced by Snackraft, healthy munchies by Hungrezi, organic handmade podis by Grandmas Goodies, Mahesh Supari and 101 Strawberries.
